Dogg's Hamlet Cahoot's Macbeth

Tom Stoppard

‘Cretinous pig-faced git?’ says the schoolboy to the headmaster.
No, this isn’t a rude joke, or a decline in school standards. This is Dogg language. Made up of words we know, but which mean something entirely different.

Dogg’s Hamlet examines the power of language, as a group of schoolchildren attempt to perform the Bard’s famous tragedy, condensed into a bite-size 15 minutes.

'To be, or not to be?'
What is the question?

In the accompanying play, Cahoot’s Macbeth, the Czechoslovakian Government has branded the play politically dangerous. As an illegal performance of “the Scottish play” is underway in the living room of a flat, there comes a sudden knock at the door.
