Live from Berlin

Berliner Philharmoniker

Enjoy the Berliner Philharmoniker – one of the world’s leading orchestras – live in high definition and 5.1 surround sound at The Watford Palace Theatre, as they broadcast their first ever series of live classical concerts to the UK.

Conducted by the greatly sought after Christian Thielemann, whose interpretations of late romantic music in particular have brought him international recognition. Here he conducts the Berliner Philharmoniker’s solo oboist, Albrecht Mayer, as he performs Richard Strauss’s Oboe Concerto and Anton Bruckner’s richly atmospheric Symphony No. 4 “Romantic”.

The live broadcast from Berlin includes comprehensive introductions to the work, interviews and background footage, giving cinema audiences a ‘better than the best seat’ experience. The series utilises the technology of the Berliner Philharmoniker Digital Concert Hall, an internet video platform to deliver the very best in live broadcast performance.
